Dynamic Energy Efficiency Modeling in Educational Buildings

- Monitored real-time thermal and electrical consumption using Arduino-based sensor networks and power analyzers across campus facilities.
- Built calibrated dynamic building energy models using DesignBuilder (EnergyPlus) to simulate thermal insulation, daylight automation, and heat pump retrofitting scenarios.
Microcontroller-Based Active Pitch Control in Autonomous Wind Turbines
Principal Investigator (PI) (2012 – 2013)
- Developed a microcontroller and fuzzy logic-based active pitch control unit across three test sites (Bornova 5 kW, Söke 1.5 kW, Çanakkale 5 kW) to replace mechanical brake resistances.
- Integrated optical encoders, inductive RPM counter sensors, and thermal monitoring modules; successfully executed 90° aerodynamic feathering tests under storm conditions (35 m/s) and commissioned the systems.
Mechanical & Electrical Overhaul of Autonomous Wind Turbines
Co-Investigator / Researcher (Ege University Solar Energy Institute | 2008 – 2010)
- Executed the complete overhaul of a 5 kW wind turbine, including generator rewinding, structural tower assembly, transmission/signal cabling, charge controller replacement, and field installation.
